Building Emotional Intelligence from the Inside Out

When I first sat down to create Calm Minds, it wasn’t just about filling pages with activities - it was about creating a gentle, guided space that I wish existed when I was growing up.

So many children and teens today are overwhelmed by a fast-moving world, social pressures, anxiety, and the big emotions that come with growing up.

And yet, we still don’t teach emotional awareness the same way we teach reading or maths. We expect young people to “cope” or “bounce back” - often without giving them the tools to do so.

Calm Minds was created to change that.

Why Start with Tweens?

The first official release of Calm Minds is our 21-Day Journal for Tweens - a creative wellness workbook designed to help children aged 10–14 explore their feelings, discover their strengths, and build confidence from the inside out.

This age group is often misunderstood.
They’re not little kids anymore, but they’re not quite teens either.

They’re becoming more aware of themselves, the world, and where they fit in - and this brings with it a unique mix of excitement, insecurity, and curiosity.
Calm Minds for Tweens meets them right there, with bite-sized lessons and fun activities that support emotional intelligence, self-expression, and calm.

What’s Coming Next?

The vision for Calm Minds has always been bigger than one book.

Coming soon, we’ll be launching two new offerings:

  • Calm Minds JNR (Ages 10 and under) – A 14-day guide full of playful, facilitated activities that help younger children explore their feelings and regulate their emotions (can be used as early as 4 or 5 with guidance).

  • Calm Minds: Young Adult – A journal-style resource designed for teens and young adults (but suitable for anyone, really!) to help process deeper emotions, transitions, and mental wellness in a gentle, empowering way.

And that’s just the beginning.
There are already more Calm Minds tools in development, including a
Grief Companion Journal to support those who are navigating loss in any form.

What We Stand For

At Calm Minds, we believe that:

  • Feelings aren’t “too much” - they’re messengers.

  • Mental health isn’t just for adults.

  • Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported.

  • Self-awareness is a superpower - and it can be taught.

Our mission is to help raise a generation that knows how to name their emotions, honor their boundaries, calm their minds, and connect with others from a place of self-respect and understanding.

Whether a child is bubbly and bold, quiet and cautious, or somewhere in between - Calm Minds offers a safe space to discover who they are, one page at a time.

A Bigger Vision

This project was born from years of experience in the mental wellness and child development space, as well as my personal mission to create accessible, affordable tools that actually make a difference.

We’re not here to “fix” anyone.
We’re here to help children and young people see that they were never broken to begin with - and that learning about their minds and feelings can be empowering, even fun.

Thank you for being here.
Whether you're a parent, teacher, therapist, or just someone who cares deeply about mental health - you’re part of this story too.

With love,
Alley
